Timothy A. Nelson, J.D., C.P.A. specializes in designing, implementing and administering sophisticated wealth management strategies that integrate the following practice specialties: Investment Planning, Retirement Income Planning, Income Tax Planning and Estate Planning.
Mr. Nelson attended the University of Kansas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1975, and then in 1980 he received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Mr. Nelson also received a M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1994. Mr. Nelson was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1981, and in 1977 he was admitted to the California Board of Accountancy. Mr. Nelson has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court. Most recently, in 2007, Mr. Nelson registered with the California Department of Corporations as a Registered Investment Advisor.

Tom Vogelheim graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Business Administration in 1984. He worked at KPMG Peat Marwick from 1984 through 1988. While at Peat Marwick, Mr. Vogelheim was a Tax Manager in the High Wealth Group and earned the Certified Public Accountant designation.
From 1988 through 1991 Tom was a Vice President at Security Pacific Bank in the Trust Department. While at Security Pacific he became a registered investment advisor and continued his work performing tax and financial planning primarily for corporate executives. He conducted a number of planning seminars with a focus on equity compensation, tax and estate planning.
In 1992 Mr. Vogelheim opened a sole practice providing tax and financial assistance for individuals and small business owners.
Mr. Vogelheim earned his JD from San Francisco Law School in May, 1997 and passed the California bar in July, 1997.
Thomas M. Phillips, CPA
Thomas M. Phillips, CPA, is the managing partner of the Marin office of Nelson, Vogelheim, Phillips, LLP. The focus of his practice has been in four areas, income tax compliance, trust administration, estate and gift taxation and financial planning.
Mr. Phillips began his career with KPMG Peat Marwick, focusing on financial planning and estate tax issues. After six years with KPMG Peat Marwick, he decided to move to a more challenging position with a smaller San Francisco based firm, Goldfarb and Simons. After departing the accounting firm of Goldfarb and Simons, Mr. Phillips created his own firm, which subsequently became the firm of Nelson, Vogelheim, Phillips, LLP.
Mr. Phillips is a past member of the AICPA, California Society of CPA’s and the San Francisco Estate Planning council. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. In addition, he has the distinction from the AICPA as a Personal Financial Specialist.

Samantha Bleeck graduated from Sonoma State University in December 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administartion and a concentration in Accounting. She has worked at Nelson, Vogelheim and Phillips, LLP since February 2014.
Samantha is currently a CPA candidate. She is also an active member of the California Society of CPA's.
